Advocate Nelson Havi said that Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials should be tried publicly.
Speaking after the resignation of three IEBC commissioners, Havi said that chairman Waula Chebukati should be punished.
"I still hold the view thatall IEBC Commissioners and the entire Secretariat:Chebukati, Connie Nkatha Maina and Ezra Chiloba amongst others, require a people’s public trial at Uhuru Park. Their replacement alone will not be sufficient, Havi is qupted by Kenyans.co.ke.
Havi stated that the only way Kenyans will get justice is if they take up justice in their own hands.
"Since court trials take years to give a verdict. It is only fair for Kenyans to put these officialsunder a public trial. Undoubtedly, the commission is rogue. We, therefore, need the public trial to ensure thatthey don't end up spending four years in the commission," said Havi.
Three IEBC commissioners resigned on Monday citing lack of trust in chair Wafula Chebukati.
