In a tweet on Monday, Kipkorir questioned the ability of Gullet to give new ideas to KRCS owing to his long stint at the helm of the organization.

According to the lawyer, the organizations mandate is wide but Kenyans only get to hear of appeals for donations to combat various disasters in the society.

"How long will Abbas Gullet be the CEO of Kenya Red Cross Society? If you lead a Public Organization for nearly 20 years & Counting, can you really offer new ideas? KRCS mandate is wide including Health, Education, Food Security etc but we only hear it calling for donations," tweeted Kipkorir.

The organization has been instrumental in combating disasters in the country for example during drought and famine, terrorist attacks, collapse of buildings, floods among others.

During these disasters, KRCS has called on Kenyans of goodwill to give in their input to offer a softer landing to those affected by any disaster in the society.

A notable example is after the terrorist attack at the Westgate shopping mall in 2013 where KRCS called for both financial and blood donations and Kenyans responded well.

Gullet has been KRCS Secretary General since 2001.
