Lawyer Ishmael Nyaribo Nyangara has defended NASA leader Raila Odinga's proposal to form an interim government which has caused an uproar to Jubilee allies.

Ishmael said Raila is operating within the confines of the law and he has the right to call for the formation of an interim government if he feels that is the only way to mitigate unrest.

Speaking on Radio Maisha Thursday, the renowned lawyer said Raila should not be blocked from speaking his mind and giving opinions concerning the welfare of the nation.

''The former Prime Minister is trying to seek solutions to heal what he feels is aching our country. He is applying legal means not force to get into power. So let no one demonize this noble course that he pushing for as he is constitutionally right,'' he said.

Ishmael lauded Raila Odinga's commitment to have reforms brought on board and appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to consider attending to Raila's call.

In an interview with Reuters on Tuesday, Raila said Kenya should form a six-month interim government to pave way for constitutional review to avoid crisis emanating from the constitution.
