Ford-Kenya party has unveiled an elections board that will drive it's nominations.
The Nation reports that the board will be headed by lawyer Grace Katasi and is expected to come up with nomination dates as well as ensure the nominations deliver credible results.
"We have sworn in the board this morning and they are committed to act in the best interests of the party," said party leader and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula on Thursday at the party's headquarters in Nairobi.
"I want to assure you that we will not be working under the influence of anyone. Our elections will be free, fair and independent," said Katasi when she accepted the appointment.
The board, she added, will announce nomination fees for its aspirants seeking to contest on the party’s ticket beginning next week.
