Lawyer John Mburu, who successfully represented veteran politician Kenneth Matiba in a compensation suit against the state, has sued him demanding up to Sh234 million as costs for the case. 

 Mburu represented Matiba against the state where he was offered more than one billion for unlawful detention. 

 The case started in August 31, 2013.

The then high court Judge Isaac Lenaola awarded Matiba, 85, more than Sh1 billion after his lawyer proved he suffered gross violation at the hands of state. 

It is a share of this compensation that the lawyer now wants. 

His case will be heard on November 15.
