Rift Valley lawyers condemned the abduction of their colleague, Willy Kimani and asked the Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinett to speed up the investigations.

Speaking at Nakuru Law Courts, the President of Rift Valley Lawyers Society (RVLS) Frank Mwangi said that they shall not be cowed by the abduction of Kimani but will insist to know his whereabouts.

“We stand in solidarity of our brother and colleague, Willy Kimani who was abducted last week together with his client. We ask the IG and his team to speed up investigations and bring all the offenders to book,” Mwangi said.

He said it is very disturbing for one to be kidnapped in the line of duty and it’s a threat to other lawyers.

The Vice President of RVLS Elizabeth Mukira said it is sad for the wife and children who for the past one week have not seen Kimani.

“Its very emotional to Kimani’s wife and children who miss their father and ask for thorough investigations to ascertain the whereabouts of Kimani,” Mukira said.

Kimani went missing last week together with his client after a hearing at a Nairobi court.

The lawyers who were wearing purple ribbons drawn from the former Rift Valley Province have vowed not to remove them till Kimani is found.
