Laying of the astro-turf at the Bomu stadium in Changamwe Sub-county has commenced.
A team of experts from different County departments have in the recent past been frequently checking the appealing progress to ensure the set targets are met.
Once completed, the stadium will have an over 3,000 sitting capacity according to a statement from the County's Sub County Administration on Monday.
It is also fully equipped with changing rooms, flood lights for night matches and a restaurant.
Mombasa County government through the Youth, Gender, Sports and Cultural Affairs Department has been in the front line in the shaping and nurturing of talents as well as growth of the youth in Mombasa.
