Speaking to sources over the phone, Mr Kaguthi argued that the leaders had negatively influenced the younger generation who look up at them for mentorship, something that has been reflected in the current schools' unrest.

"The deeds by this kind of politicians is to blame for the current wave of unrest in most schools in the country," said Kaguthi.

Kaguthi added that it was unfortunate the same leaders who ought to be good role models and mentors to the youths were becoming irresponsible and abusing their mandates.

“The students are simply copying the actions of these leaders who are burning tyres in the streets and throwing stones at the police,” he said.

He called on the political and public leadership circles to stop any negative behaviours in the streets and learn to channel their complaints through the laid down laws.
