This comes after a man was killed on Monday evening and his body dumped in a tea plantation in Bosamaro Chache, West Mugirango constituency.

A Nyamira based politician Victor Swanya claimed that Matiang’i is only good in issuing threats to Kenyans without actions.

“The Monday killing where a man was killed by unknown people and his body dumped in a tea plantation clearly shows that the security team is sleeping.

"No suspect has been arrested so far. Police officers serving in the county are lazy and Matiang’i has failed to take action and beef up security at his own backyard,” he said.

West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi condemned the killing and said police officers in the region must intensify security patrols or they be transferred.

“Matiang’i should visit the region so that he can hear what my constituents have to say because insecurity is on the rise.

"Traders fear walking at night because thugs are targeting them to rob them their cash and cause harm. The cheap threats Matiang’i is making must be converted into actions for the sake of improving security,” the lawmaker said.

Manga MCA Enock Ogori urged Matiang’i to reshuffle police bosses serving in the region saying the bosses have failed to ensure their junior are working around the clock to beef up security.
