Speaking at a Nakuru hotel on Tuesday while attending a training workshop, Esther Akinyi, who is an ODM official said that too much politicking, which is ongoing in the county, retards development.

"There is too much politicking which is going on at the moment and this has led to the leaders we elect to forget the role that they were supposed to do when elected. This is very sad since it delays the development which was supposed to take place," said Akinyi.

Esther Nderitu a TNA official on the other hand said that elected leaders should account for all the funds that they receive from the government for development.

"Women suffer each day while politics take centre stage, it is important that leaders live to their words and stick to the promises they made during the campaigns," she said.

She further added that it is high time that the national government involves all women leaders in their projects.

"The government should give all the women who have been elected the mandate to steer the ongoing development so that they can have control of such developments," said Nderitu.
