Muslim faithfuls in Nakuru on Friday gathered at the Afraha stadium for prayers to mark the end of Ramadhan with messages of peace taking centre stage.
The prayers were led by Imam Ahmed Saleh of Jamia Mosque Nakuru who called on all Muslims to use the Eid-UL-Fitr season to show compassion and spread a message of peace and love to all.
“This is a season of joy and sharing showing compassion and spreading a message of peace and love to all,” he said.
Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui in a message through Nakuru county Public Service CeC Mwangangi Mwania commended the muslim faithfuls in Nakuru for their support.
He called on the faithfuls to continue praying for the nation.
“I am here representing the governor with a message to muslim brothers that they continue praying for the county and the country at large so that peace may prevail and foster development," said Cec Mwangangi.
Muslims across the country marked the end of Ramadhan with the national ceremony being held in Kwale.
