Leaders from Laikipia have called on the government to arrest a KDF officer alleged to have shot dead a pupil in Rumuruti on Tuesday.
During the incident, another pupil was seriously injured.
Laikipia East MP-elect Sarah Lekorere claimed that a military officer opened fire at the pupils.
"It is unfortunate that an officer mandated to protect citizens can kill an innocent boy in cold blood. He should be brought to book and justice be done to the victim."
"We thought this security operation was going to be a major relief to the residents of Laikipia. The military officers should execute their mandate within the law," Lekorere added.
MPs-elect Patrick Mariru (Laikipia West) and Catherine Waruguru (Laikipia woman rep) pleaded with locals to maintain calm as a probe into the matter continues.
