Kenyan political leaders have sent their congratulatory messages to the Deputy President William Ruto and former radio presenter, Joshua Arap Sang for their victory against the ICC.
The two had been accused of playing a big part in the 2007/2008 post election violence that left thousands homeless and dead. The two have been attending their cases at the ICC for more than two years.
Led by the President Uhuru Kenyatta, the leaders sent their congratulatory messages on both their Facebook accounts and Twitter. The president took on his Twitter account to send his message.
‘‘The victory is partial & the quest for justice is incomplete. This moment is long overdue but no less joyful. I join my brothers in celebrating their moment of justice,’’ stated Preident Kenyatta’s Facebook post.
Other leaders like the opposition leader, Raila Odinga also congratulated the duo on their victory. Eugene Wamalwa was not left out either as he posted on Twitter to pass his congratulations to the deputy president.
‘‘Congratulations to DP Ruto and Arap Sang. You kept the faith. Focus and justice came at last! No case to answer,’’ read Wamalwa’s Twitter post.
