As the Christmas Day mood sets in, various leaders in the country have revealed their plans for the festive season.

President Uhuru Kenyatta will attend a church service in Nairobi during the Christmas celebrations.

"The President will be up and about within the country. He will definitely attend church as he normally does every Christmas," said State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu.

Deputy President William Ruto will spend the day at his Sugoi home in Uasin Gishu County.

"The DP went to Eldoret on Thursday and he will largely spend his time there during this festive season," said his spokesman David Mugonyi.

NASA leader retreated to his ancestral home in Bondo on Friday where he will spend the Christmas.

Other leaders, speaking to Sunday Nation, disclosed how they are going to spend December 25 and New Year holidays.

"I will celebrate both Christmas and New Year with my family in Nairobi. It is long since we had such celebrations as a family in the city; so this time round I want to change a bit and hold them in Nairobi," said the Speaker of the Senate Kenneth Lusaka.

On her part, Kisumu Woman Representative Rosa Buyu said: "I will spend Christmas organising my office. Yes, that might sound silly to most people because they mostly associate Christmas with eating and drinking. But that is going to be my Christmas."

Supreme Court judge, Justice Isaac Lenaola, also revealed his plans.

"I will celebrate my Christmas in Nairobi with my family then we will all proceed to Samburu for the New Year celebrations. I will then rush back to Nairobi just in time for children to go back to school on January 2," he said.
