Uasin Gishu senator Margaret Kamar, Nandi governor Stephen Sang and Elgeyo Marakwet's Alex Tolgos eulogised the late Catholic Bishop Cornelious Korir as a peacemaker.Speaking at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Eldoret, Uasin Gushu county during a special mass for the late Bishop, Kamar said the country had lost a leader with a unique heart."Korir was a great pillar of peace and we have lost a peacemaker who had a unique heart," said Kamar as quoted by the Star.Tolgos praised Korir for his role in convincing bandits to stop attacks in Kerio Valley."It's only him who could easily convince bandits to stop attacks in Kerio Valley," said Tolgos.He added, "Recently he was talking about how he could help to deal with terrorism. He was a fearless fighter for peace."Sang noted that apart from the late bishop being celebrated as a peace ambassador, he also loved education.Korir died Monday 30, 2017 and be buried Saturday, November 11.
