The youths drawn fron seven sub counties: Nyando, Nyakach, Muhoroni, Kisumu East, Kisumu West, Kisumu Central and Seme urged the leaders to concentrate on development.

Speaking on Wenesday group representative, Moi Omuga, accused the politicians in the region of concentrating much in politics at the expense of development.

“We want our leaders to re-examine themselves. Their wrangles do not only demean the electorate but frustrates development,” said Omuga.

Omuga said that leaders in the area must realize that Kisumu is bigger than all of them.

“It is ridiculous for a few people to push for narrow and selfish interests, instead of pulling together in one direction guided by the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) agenda,” said Omuga.

The forum was convened to promote peace in Kisumu County, while incorporating the youth in playing their rightful roles with a view of improving their economic status.

He said if Members of Parliament work closely with Governor Jack Ranguma, such wrangles witnessed in the County Assembly would be history as some legislators are believed to be quietly stoking the fire to discredit his government.

“We will not watch as our elected leaders tear each other in the endless battle for political supremacy. Time has come for leaders to work for the interest of the electorates,” he concluded.
