The groups on Tuesday gave the acting Interior CS Fred Matiang’i 48 hours to tender his apology for his remarks last week when he claimed that nobody had died in the operation.
Under Women for Peace umbrella, the lobbies claimed that many women were sexually harassed or raped by police in Kibera, Mathare, and Kisumu.
They however said that the affected women were afraid to come out because of stigma.
Nairobi Woman Representative-elect Esther Passaris urged the Government to play its constitutional role by ensuring the rights of women are protected.
"We want to speak out against the unwarranted violence. Women are bystanders to the conflict, yet they are exposed to violence," she said.
