Machakos County Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has sent his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Judge Kasanga Mulwa, who passed away on Monday morning in Nairobi Hospital.
Speaking in his office during a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon, Mutua expressed his shock on learning the news of Kasanga’s demise, who he termed as a hardworking, intelligent, educated Kenyan and close friend.
“It is with profound shock and disbelief I learnt the passing on of Hon Justice Kanga Mulwa. I would like to convey my heartfelt condolence to his family, relatives and friends,” said Mutua
Mutua further eulogized Kasanga as a mature personal councilor, who was ready at anyone’s’ disposal when called upon to offer advice as an elder.
“I interacted personally with Kasanga and he had a clear message to me that political games are supposed to be ignored if they do not promote development and interests of mwananchi,” he added
The former Vice President and current leader of Wiper Democratic Party Kalonzo Musyoka also sent his condolences after visiting the home on the deceased in Lukenya location in Makueni County.
“Justice Kasanga was a man of respect and a personal friend who was full of wisdom. I bring my condolence to his wife Martha, together with his family and friends. He loved education with passion and will be remembered for his good counsel,” Said Kalonzo.
Kasanga Mulwa is a former Member of Parliament of the old Makueni, and was elected for three consecutive terms from 1967 to 1982, and later appointed as a judge of the high court and the East African Court of Justice.
He is a renowned founder of all Lukenya schools and the most recent Lukenya University, and the chairman of Board of Management in Machakos Girls high school, the current leading KCSE champions in Machakos County.
