A section of leaders from Nyamira County now wants locals to pray for Governor John Nyagarama who remains indisposed for weeks now instead of politicking.
On Tuesday, Jubilee strongman Walter Nyambati, who launched an appeal against Nyagarama's reelection, had asked the 70-year-old ODM governor to resign.
"He remains invisible and that is why we want him to resign. We do not know his whereabouts until now," he said.
At Kisumu Appeals Court, the election petition is ongoing and both parties are said to have filed responses.
But Borabu MP Ben Momanyi and his West Mugirango counterpart Vincent Kemosi have warned against politicising the health of the governor.
"It is sad that we can politicise health of someone. Instead, we should be praying for him to wish him quick recovery," Momanyi said.
On his part, Kemosi said: "Anybody can fall sick and it is by God's grace some of us are healthy. We should condemn those who pick political capital out of that."
Besides his deteriorating health, the governor is said to be also nursing one of his son, who remains admitted at Nairobi Hospital.
