At Meru on Saturday, Ruto generously accepted the terminology which had been widely disregarded by his supporters.

On Sunday, Ruto and his allies, led by South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, announced their intention to use the remarks as a movement.

"It is a good gesture. As team Tanga Tanga, we are not offended and we are using this as a movement ahead of 2022," Osoro said.

North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko added: "The remarks were an encouragement. The president is aware that his deputy is working."

Last week, State House released a statement in which it denied that the remarks were used to offend the DP.

Osoro, who flew with water Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelgui, said the movement would recruit members across the country to popularize Ruto's 2022 bid.
