President Uhuru Kenyatta's stern warning to saboteurs of handshake has elicited sharp reactions a day after openly telling off those opposing it.
At Jacaranda grounds on Wednesday, in a message indirectly targeting his deputy William Ruto, Uhuru said he is at liberty to engage Raila Odinga.
"Leave Raila alone because he is also a Kenyan. I have a right to engage him at all levels. I am tired with these theatrics," he said.
For weeks now, Ruto has been hitting back at Raila on what he terms as 'hiding in handshake' for his own political gains.
At Nyamira, several leaders have openly asked Ruto to support the peace deal for the sake of unity in the country.
"The president is right because we need this unity. We are experiencing growth and stability something that we should all support," said Timothy Bosire, ODM treasurer.
Politician Victor Swanya said: "We should all castigate those opposing handshake. The DP should join forces with the rest of the country."
During the Jacaranda function, Uhuru insisted that he is not afraid of anyone adding that he will ensure unity sails through.
