A section of Nyamira leaders have reacted after 3 police officers and 7 people were abducted by Ugandan police officers in Bondo.
The leaders led by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi said Interior CS Fred Matiang’i must deploy more police officers to guard at the country’s borders.
“It is a big shame for Kenyan police officers to be abducted while members of the public watch. Something needs to be urgently done to ensure the country’s borders have enough police officers to offer tight security,” he said.
Jubilee politician Walter Nyambati said President Uhuru Kenyatta should engage in talks with the Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to end the unnecessary wrangles as the border.
“President Uhuru and his Ugandan counterpart Museveni must sit down and discuss security at the border because we don’t want to continue witnessing such shameful incidents between Kenyan and Ugandan authorities,” said Nyambati.
He claimed that members of the public may take advantage of the harassment from Ugandan police officers to the Kenyan police officers to disrespect police officers in the country.
