A section of Jubilee leaders from the Rift Valley have expressed their concerns over Cabinet appointments adding that it will make or break Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
Led by Belgut MP Nelson Koech, the leaders stated that the region deserves more slots in the current cabinet.
Koech said that Rift Valley region deserves more slot for leading a spirited campaign for the re-election of Uhuru.
"The Deputy President should have his eyes on 2022 even as helps the president to form the cabinet.The DP should know that these appointments will make or break his 2022 ambition, he should have that in mind when picking the nominees,” he noted.
Chepalungu MP Gideon Koskei on his part noted that the former Bomet governor Isaac Rutto should be honored for dumping NASA and declaring his support for Mr Kenyatta after the August election.
“The former governor sacrificed his political ambition to ensure that President Kenyatta and Ruto get massive support in the South Rift region in the repeat presidential elections,” he said.
Nakuru County leaders led by Governor Lee Kinyanjui are also calling for two CS and PS position from the area.
Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri indicated that the region has been overwhelmingly voting for the Uhuru led team and deserves more slots in the Cabinet and foreign service.
“Nakuru County has always been voting for the Jubilee party and I think the president should consider this county in his Government,” he conveyed.
