A section of leaders from Nyamira County have yet again come into the defense of Chief Justice David Maraga, following his latest feud with Internal Security CS Fred Matiang'i.
Last week, Maraga accused Matiang'i of disrespecting court orders, adding that the move would set a bad precedence.
"Court orders must be adhered to all the time. If you disagree with them, we have a room for appealing. It is sad that some people are disobeying them," he had said.
High Court sitting in Nairobi had convicted Matiang'i of contempt of court and subsequently fined him Sh200, 000.
Led by Jackson Omosa, the elders chosen from Kitutu Masaba on Tuesday scoffed at the minister, adding that he should find a modality of working with the judiciary.
"We are not pleased with the attacks on the judiciary. Matiang'i should apologise to CJ or we simply curse him. He is behaving as though he is above the law," he said.
Throughout the weekend in Borabu, Matiang'i stayed out of the topic even as leaders from the county asked him to respect court orders.
