[Photo|Daily Nation]Leaders continued to throng Nairobi's Lee Funeral Home to view the body of the late Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru, Tuesday.The Jubilee governor died while at Thika Level 5 Hospital where he was rushed for treatment following a grisly road accident at Kabati Makenji area on the Thika-Murang'a highway on Tuesday morning.Gakuru succumbed to his injuries on arrival at the facility as medics prepared to airlift him to Nairobi for specialised care.He had been rushed to hospital alongside his driver after the Mercedes-Benz they were traveling in crashed into an opening of a guard rail at the roadside and drove through it for several metres damaging the car.Deputy President William Ruto arrived at the funeral home accompanied by Cabinet Secretary for ICT Joe Mucheru among other government leaders.Also present were governors Mike Sonko (Nairobi), Martin Wambora (Embu), Ferdinand Waititu (Kiambu), Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Mwangi Wa Iria (Murang'a) among others.Nyeri Deputy Governor Mutahi Kahiga, Nyeri Township MP Kimani Ngunjiri, County Speaker John Kagucia also led leaders from the county to the funeral home where they passed their messages of condolence.
