Gilbert Kabage, the chairman of the group, while talking to this writer in Nakuru town observed that the current utterances and political maneuvers by local leaders were not constructive and urged them to take caution.

Kabage while reacting to the current bitter verbal exchanges by Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto and Deputy President William Ruto and a section of local Kanu leaders over political leadership and the recent clash among Members of the Nakuru County Assembly, the elder cautioned that such incidences could tilt political fortunes and peaceful coexistence in the region.

“I am in particular opposed to incautious political utterances and actions by our elected leaders. We should understand that the political marriage that has largely contributed to peace in this regional and earned Jubilee power can be compromised by irresponsible actions by our elected leaders,” he said.

“The President and his deputy worked hard for this success but their juniors want to water it down,’’ added Kabage.

The elder further urged the president and his deputy to move fast and contain any irresponsible behavours in the coalition, and reach out directly to voters in the region to promote peace while protecting the integrity of the Jubilee Alliance.
