He said some of the residents from remote areas far from registrar of persons offices within their sub counties had got no means to access the offices due to abject poverty.

“Leaders should assist in taking IDs services to the people, majority of those in the grassroots have got no IDs. Some residents from remote areas in Mavoko for instance spend over Sh. 3,000 as transport to seek the document at the sub-county headquarters in Athi River town,” said Mwanza.

Mwanza said politicians, businessmen, religious and opinion leaders from Ukambani should join hands in facilitating IDs issuance in areas where they come from.

He said the region can only lead in providing Musyoka with votes if masses hold IDs and register as voters.

Mwanza said the initiative will help reduce poverty levels in Kamba land because the youths without the document will be liable for employment once they receive them.
