Speaking at Riabagaka area in Kitutu Masaba constituency on Sunday, Swanya Education Foundation chairman Victor Swanya Ogeto said leaders should help orphans and needy students whose background is poor to join secondary schools.
According to Victor, leaders should prioritize education no only in Nyamira County but also across the country.
“We have so many bright students from poor families and some are orphans who performed well in last year’s KCPE exams. Leaders be elected or not must support such students by paying school fees to join secondary schools of their choice to pursue they dreams,” he said.
He said Swanya Education Foundation has sponsored 40 students who have joined university.
“Since the foundation started 40 students have joined university who received sponsorship from the foundation. This year we are giving over Sh400, 000 to over 40 students to pay school fees in first term,” he added.
