Kisii spiritual leader Fr Daniel Mwenza has called upon the leaders to unite the citizens ahead of the 2017 election.
Speaking today at a church service in Kisii, Mwenza said the leaders from both side’s of the opposition and the ruling party should unite the country and avoid raising political temperatures.
“The first priority for every leader whether from the opposition or the ruling party should be to speak peace," said Mwenza.
"Without peace, we are doomed. It is the duty of our leaders to ensure that the people are united especially as we head towards the 2017 elections,” he added.
He added that the leaders should not separate the people along political lines.
“We should unite every individual despite the political party, tribe and region they come from. We should preach peace and call for unity countrywide,” he said
He also urged the faithful’s to pray for their leaders and the country.
