This advice was given by Chief Justice Willy Mutunga when he attended the launch of the rebranded Star newspaper at a Nairobi hotel. According to Mutunga, many leaders, mostly politicians, use force to solve the crisis. This, however, leads to violence which derails a country’s development.

Mutunga called on the politicians to dialogue on any issues arising as we head to the 2017 elections and thereafter. He pointed out that some of the crisis or issues being witnessed in the country at the moment are the IEBC and the Judiciary bodies which need to be talked about. He said that many political parties are pushing for the disbandment of the IEBC which means they have lost confidence in the electoral body.

Mutunga pointed out that if the issue will not be looked in to and solved prior the elections, it might get out of hand. He added that leaders should shun hate speech and incitement remarks.
