Leaders who attended a prayer rally in Nakuru, including President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, are on the spot for 'ignoring' the chopper crash that happened in Lake Nakuru.

The prayers were on Sunday, a day after the tragedy.

Despite the prayers being held at the Afraha Stadium, a few metres from the Lake Nakuru where recovery mission was ongoing, no single speaker mentioned a word about the tragedy.

All the leaders who spoke at the rally gave the tragedy a wide berth raising serious questions on why they could not even send condolonces to families of victims.

To make matters worse, those who perished are said to be part of a youth group that lobbied support for the Jubilee coalition.

Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika had on Saturday told media that three of the victims were members of his media team.

"We were shocked that all the leaders in that rally decided to ignore the tragedy. We are told the victims were heading to Narok for President Kenyatta's rally on Saturday, and when he comes here on Sunday he can't even send condolences?" a family member of one of the victims said.
