Leaders in Kisii County have called on police officers to intensify security in the area.

Led by Bomariba ward representative they said insecurity was on the rise in the peaceful town.

The call comes exactly three days after three night guards were hacked to death by suspected robbers at Gesonso area, Kisii County.

"The level of insecurity in Kisii county is worrying and things might worsen if the police will not improve. It is time they start having night patrols so as they arrest suspicious people," said Moindi.

He called upon Kisii County commissioner Godfrey Kigochi to request for more police officers who can help address the insecurity menace.

Kisii Central ward representative said if by the end of March things will not have changed then as leaders they will mobilise the people to hold demonstrations.

"The demonstrations will see all the police officers in this county transferred and others brought in," he said.

The leaders were speaking on Monday in Kisii town.
