Nzoia Sugar head coach Bernard Mwalala has hailed the postponement of this weekend's Kenyan Premier League fixtures due to the political heat in the country.
This comes after the league managers on Thursday called off all matches slated for Saturday 28 October and Sunday 29 October after clubs expressed security fears.
Mwalala's side was to play Kariobangi Sharks in Nairobi.
"What KPL did is commendable because you can't risk lives just because you want to honour matches. We have a few games left and I think we still have enough time to complete the season," he said.
However, the round of 32 matches scheduled for Wednesday October 1 will go on as planned.
