Even though the authenticity of the audio is yet to be ascertained, the background voice, which is typically that of Duale, seems to be calling for eviction of a Kenyan community from Garissa during elections.

Duale is facing a major challenge in this year’s elections after former Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim declared his interest in the seat.

“Destroy property and I will shield you from the law. Chase Kambas away and I will give you upkeep. I have told the Kamba OCPD not to bring Wiper politics here in Garissa,” said the voice that is believed to be Duale’s.

“Give me the group members I will organize a meeting for you so that we know each other properly. This town is ours and they can do nothing about it,” added the voice.

Maalim, a former ODM Disciplinary committee chairman, defected to the Wiper Democratic Movement party recently.

Kamba ethnic community is predominant in the Garissa Township constituency and Duale is yet to respond to the allegations.
