Isiolo Boys High School has been shut down indefinitely following a fierce scuffle among the learners in the institution.
The learners went on a rampage on Saturday night, destroying school windows and burning personal effects.
According to Ismail Galma, the chairman of the county parents association, the brawl ensued when two camps who had toured to Nairobi differed on the type of music to be played in the bus when they were traveling back to the institution.
"The two sides differed on the type of music to be played. Their patron decided that the stereo should be switched off and the matter was resolved by a team of teachers on arrival at the school," said the chairman.
The principal of the school regretted that such trivial issue could have been resolved amicably instead of resorting to unnecessary fighting.
The indefinite closure plunged the institution into uncertainty especially when the candidates are preparing for national examinations in October.
