An opinion poll done by Ipsos Synovate recently showed that Odinga’s fortunes in the vote rich region had substantially increased hence causing jitters among top Jubilee stalwarts.

And in a jibe directed to DP, Rutto said he was completely in charge of Rift Valley and that Odinga should not ‘worry’ at all.

“I have told my friend Odinga to let me handle DP Ruto and that is exactly what I am doing. I am sure my people are tired being carried like sacks of potato,” he said while campaigning in Sotik.

The outspoken governor added:” They only thought of looting and satisfying their interest. Time to pay is here and in August, Rift Valley will speak in one voice.”

Despite voting for Odinga in 2007, the vast Rift Valley region endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta due to DP Ruto’s influence in the region.

But earlier this week, Ruto has been battling a host of rebellions including that waged by KANU leader Gideon Moi and Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago, who has since reconciled with the DP.
