Kisii county Governor James Ongwae has been challenged to fulfill his pledge and put thunder arrestors in Kenyenya district in Bomachoge Borabu.
This remark comes after one of the area residents was stricken by a thunderstorm on Monday and is receiving treatment at Kenyenya district hospital.
On September last year three people lost their lives in the area after being stricken and Governor Ongwae promised to put thunder arrestors in every primary school in Kenyenya district which has not been fulfilled.
Addressing the press on Tuesday at Kenyenya area residents led by Ibrahim Ombiro urged Ongwae to stop giving empty promises and make sure he puts thunder arrestors in the area.
“Last year we lost three people who were struck, this week on Monday one of the area residents Hellen Ruka was stricken also, we need Ongwae to put the thunder arrestors he promised in the area,” said Ombiro.
