National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale has asked National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga not to interfere with the operations of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Speaking during a press briefing, Garissa Town MP said that the electoral commission needs space to conduct the fresh election following the nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win. He also called upon Raila and his team to campaign instead of engaging in side shows.

“We are telling our colleagues (in NASA) to stop going round talking about IEBC,"  he said as quoted by Star.

The vocal politician also challenged the electoral agency to come clear over its preparedness to conduct an election before the said date.

"Speak to the nation and prepare infrastructure for the election. Tell the country from tomorrow how you are prepared. We don't want to create an environment of rumor mongering. We don't want to create an environment of mistrust” he added.

The remarks of the lawmaker come at a time when IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati and CEO Ezra Chiloba are facing criticisms from both factions ahead of the fresh election.
