Mombasa Women Representative Mishi Mboko has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop intimidating and harassing Coast opposition governors.

Mboko claimed Uhuru is out to discredit the governors by leveling malicious graft accusations against them.Speaking to journalists in Mombasa on Tuesday, Mboko accused Uhuru of political witch-hunt against Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi. She said President Uhuru’s recent attack on Governor Kingi is purely political and meant to undermine the Governor’s re-election bid.“President Kenyatta should stop intimidating Coast governors because they have done nothing wrong to warrant his malicious attacks,” she said. The Likoni MP hopeful claimed President Uhuru knows Coast region will not vote for him on August 8 and that is why he has resulted to attacking governors allied to the opposition.“If President Uhuru has evidence that Kingi has swindled county public funds, he should present it to the investigating agencies sand stop soiling his name in political campaigns,” she said.On Tuesday during a rally in Kilifi, President Uhuru said he will jail Governor Kingi over alleged misappropriation of county funds if he wins re-election on August 8.Governor Kingi has since hit back at the President, accusing him of lying about the county’s allocation.
