[Photo/Daily Nation]Youths in Kisii county allied to Jubilee party on Tuesday held a peaceful demonstration in Kisii Town to defend acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i against attacks from the opposition.
The youths protested after NASA leaders left Gusii Stadium where they had a rally.
During the rally, NASA leaders led by presidential candidate Raila Odinga warned Matiang’i against plans to help Jubilee in rigging August 8 poll.
But, the protesters, led by county Jubilee party secretary general Isaac Motari, accused the opposition leaders of linking Matiang’i with rigging claims.
“Our leader will not be accused by opposition under our watch. Matiang'i has done a good job in the education sector and now ministry interior, he should be given credit," said Motari. He reiterated that CS Matiang'i is not a member of IEBC who will rig the polls.Motari said NASA leaders are desperate and have sensed defeat.
"NASA has already lost, they should shun from unnecessary attacks on government officials," he said.
