Rebel Orange Democratic Movement law maker Samuel Arama has told off his critics who want him to quit the party for openly opposing the party leader Raila Odinga over the referendum drive. Speaking in to journalists after addressing women and youth group leaders in his constituency, Arama bashed his critics and termed them as hypocrites. The Nakuru West Mp has lately worked closely with the Jubilee leaders and even openly supported Governor Kinuthia’s directive to ‘ban’ referendum drive in Nakuru. He promised to continue working with the government for the sake of peace and development and shrugged off calls for him to resign from local ODM leaders. "I have never and will never regret my stand on the referendum drive and working closely with the government”, he retorted. He emphasised that he was not elected to be a sycophant but to serve his electorates. The MP added that he was not afraid to face any disciplinary actions from the party that sponsored him to parliament if it so wishes. There has been a heated campaign by a section of Cord leaders in the area and country wide to have the rebel legislator amongst around the country disciplined for going against a collective stand by the coalition to spearhead the referendum. The MP has been categorical that the Cord leadership was misleading Kenyans and was out to make a political mileage in preparations for the 2017 elections. Area Member of the Nakuru County Assembly and minority leader Dan Mbae of the Cord coalition has been on the forefront in criticizing the MP for working for the Jubilee coalition to disorient Cord.
