A section of ODM leaders from Nairobi now assures party leaders Raila Odinga of a landslide victory in the cosmopolitan city and urged him never to bother holding frequent campaigns.
Nairobi City is among the much-contested county between Jubilee and opposition Cord with Jubilee leadership keen to control the county.
Dagoretti North’s Simba Arati, County Chairman George Aladwa, and Governor Evans Kidero maintained that ODM would be targeting over a million votes in the presidential contest in the city.
“Nairobi is a no go zone for Jubilee and I want to assure our party leader that we have locked it and it’s a number of days before we confirm that in the ballot. We control Nairobi and now it’s time that we reach other places," said Arati.
"I said that Nairobi is ODM's home and no one will dispute that. As Governor, we have laid down strategies so that we don’t engage you all times when you are supposed to reach other regions to consolidate votes,” added Kidero.
Mr Aladwa on his part urged the party to take disciplinary actions against ODM leaders who were coating Jubilee government as a step of restoring order.
“In Nairobi, we have dealt with some of the leaders who have been going against our policies. I want the same to be done in other parts of the country. We don’t want people to bring unnecessary stress to us,” he said.
