Kisii County Women Representative, Mary Sally Otara, has called upon leaders who have been criticising Governor James Ongwae's development performance to leave him alone.
Speaking in a telephone interview, Otara said that Kisii County had emerged to be among the top performing counties in the republic because of Governor Ongwae's experience in the civil service which cannot be compared to any of his competitors interested for the seat.
Otara told the governor’s critics to bare in mind that he was popularly elected into office and stands high chances of retaining the same seat come the next general elections because of his development record.
In the recent past, some leaders who lost in the last general elections have been organising and participating in demonstrations to challenge implementation of various activities which have been approved by the county assembly.
She said that there was need for all stakeholders to support the county government under Ongwae so that taxpayers can benefit from the fruits of the devolution process which they have started enjoying.
Otara commended the county government for remaining united since they were elected into office which has led to the achievements the county has witnessed.
She told those interested in various seats in the next general elections to hold their horses and give positive criticism where possible and not just rumours which cannot take them anywhere.
