The battle for political supremacy was on display during the burial of Kilifi County Lands executive member, John Mazuri .
According to the Star, Mining CS Dan Kazungu had complained of not being listed as an ODM member by Senator Stewart Madzayo.
However, Governor Amason Kingi reminded Kazungu that he is a technocrat and not a politician.
The CS had complained of being sidelined as the county ODM member.
The former Malindi member of Parliament complained and made a suggestion of joining another team.
He said, "I have no number in the team and must form my own. In any game, there must be two teams competing. We respect ODM but now we will have to join another team."
However, Governor Amason Kingi had a ready answer for him. He corrected Kazungu's political activity saying; "Leave politics to politicians. You are a technocrat. I advise you to leave the matter of politics to us. You are not allowed to take part in the competition among the teams."
The funeral was attended by several local leaders who also talked about the need for a Coast based party.
Some of those who attended included Malindi MP Willy Mtengo, county woman representative Aisha Jumwa, deputy Kennedy Kamto, Rabai's William Kamoti, MCAs and deputy National Lands Commission chair Abigael Mukholwe.
