A Kibera resident has slammed city consultant Eliud Owalo for allegedly claiming that opposition leader Raila Odinga is planning to endorse his daughter, Rosemary Odinga for Kibra constituency seat in 2017.
Even though Ms. Odinga has not publicly declared her interest to unseat incumbent Ken Okoth, she has been attending various political rallies in the constituency.
On Wednesday, Owalo who worked in the Cord secretariat during 2013 elections claimed that the Odinga family was keen to endorse Rosemary in 2017.
“For avoidance of doubt, Rosemary will be seeking OD party ticket in 2017 elections. She expects no favours from the party and will face the people of Kibra for support,” wrote Charles Onguko to the ODM party Electoral body.
“Owalo should stop being petty and face the situation. Rosemary, just like any Kenyan, has a right to contest anywhere as long as she meets the credentials,” he added.
Onguko, a vocal ODM social medal activist demanded that Owalo verifies his allegations or face disciplinary actions.
