A Strathmore University lecturer has been arrested for allegedly beating to death his wife.
Dr Fredrick Onyango Ogolla who lectures at Business School was on Wednesday morning arraigned at the Kibera Law courts although he did not take plea after police applied for more time to detain him as they finalise investigations.
Police suspect the don beat Margaret Gobi Mwachongo on the New Year Eve at their Lavington home and that she succumbed to the injuries.
According to Nairobi County Police Commander Japheth Koome, the couple had a disagreement before engaging in a physical fight that resulted in the said injuries.
“She was taken to hospital unconscious after that evening fight but she succumbed to her injuries,” said Koome.
Earlier, the lecturer had taken to Facebook to announce the death of his wife.
“To my friends on FB, what happened was too painful that I have been unable to believe and that’s why I didn’t update you, my lovely wife left me and went to the lord. It’s so hurting in as much as it is hard to express. Rip my love," he said.
