University lecturers who are currently on strike have claimed they are yet to receive Sh5.2 billion released by the government towards their salary increment.
Last week, the government through the Treasury stated that it had released the money as a way of meeting the lecturers' demands.
The money is for enhanced salaries and house allowances.
According to Universities Academic Staff Union (Uasu) Secretary-General Constantine Wasonga representatives from all the 31 public universities have confirmed that none of the institutions has received any funds.
“If public universities have indeed received the requisite finances, let them state as publicly as they have done in the past,” he said.
Last week, the government agreed to release the Sh5.2 billion. Consequently, universities administrations demanded that the union calls off the strike.
