Speaking separately on Monday, the supporters said the remarks by Mututho were not only fictitious but also bordered on insults.

"It is very sad that a leader of Mututho's stature can come up with such unfounded claims. He should stop eliminating competition by resorting to insults," said John Mwangi.

His sentiments were echoed by Margaret Njoki who added that they were sure Kinyanjui now the National Transport and Safety Authority chairman would clinch the seat with a landslide and Mututho and his cabal should therefore brace for a thrashing.

While in Molo last week, Mututho claimed that he was 300 times better than his fellow opponents for the county chief executive position.

He branded Kinyanjui as an outsider in Nakuru politics, and also hit out at Transition Authority boss Kinuthia wa Mwangi as a non-starter who could not contain the massive wage bill that the county is currently grappling with.

So far, the governor position has attracted five aspirants including Mr Mututho, Kinyanjui, Senator James Mungai, Kinuthia wa Mwangi and the incumbent Kinuthia Mbugua.
