The County government of Mombasa through the Office of The County Attorney invited all residents of Mombasa County to the Mombasa Law Society Legal Awareness Week from September 25th to 29th September, 2017 opposite the Mombasa Law Courts.
The Legal Awareness Week is usually observed and marked Countrywide with the aim of empowering individuals regarding issues involving the law and access to justice. Legal awareness helps to promote consciousness of legal culture, participation in the formation of laws and the rule of law.The participation of the Office of the County Attorney at this year’s legal awareness week aims at enhancing and developing legal knowledge and capacity to the residents of Mombasa County to better exercise their power and participation in governance and administration at local level."The Office of the County Attorney shall be supported by representatives from the Department of Lands, Planning and Housing as well as from Trade and Investments to answer all pertinent questions, queries and inquiries as to the services rendered by each department and the Government as a whole," confirmed Governor Ali Hassan Joho.
A similar event is ongoing in Nairobi's Milimani Law Courts compound.
