The Legal Department from the county government of Uasin Gishu on Friday joined Uasin Gishu’s legal team from various courts in celebrating the Judiciary Open Day.
The event with the support of the ICJ Kenya and Eldoret CUC saw legal officers come together to mark the day.
According to the County Attorney S.K.Lel, county participated in the celebration since they are part of the court users commission.
"As the users of the justice,we have laws enacted by The County Assembly Of Uasin Gishu on the betterment of the society," said Lel.
He noted that their duty as judiciary is to provide services to the public in a free and fair grounds.
Lel added that the judicial act does not allow the county prosecutors to prosecute but it's only done by the secondment powers from the public prosecutor.
The celebration was a way of advertising the Judiciary on grounds that they are unprejudiced to the public on justice provision.
Also present during the event was the County Secretary Peter Leley.
